Study on the Applicability of Saturated Hydrocarbon Parameters in the Evaluation of Lacustrine Source Rocks and Oils Based on Thermal Simulation Experiments

Saturated hydrocarbons are widely used in the valuation of source rocks and oils, but applicability related parameters has received less attention. Based on thermal simulation experiments Mesozoic Yingen-Ejinaqi Basin, GC-MS analysis saturated hydrocarbon fractions expelled oils extracts from solid residues, to lacustrine oil were discussed. The results indicated that: Controlled by degradation, both relative abundance tricyclic terpenoids pregnane (including L pregnane) steroids increased with increase maturity. Maturity had little effect some environmental such as Pr/Ph gammacerane index, they still effective even at high-over maturity stage. But a significant influence method using identify organic matter, because only stage Ro < 1.45%, might it effectively matter dominant peak n-alkanes C27–C29 steranes method. Most their valid scope application, C29 20S/(20S + 20R) steranes, C29αββ/(ααα αββ) C31αβ22S/(22S 22R) homohopanes when value was below 2.06%, for parameter’s would be “inverted” over-maturity (Ro > 2.06%). However, parameter Ts/(Ts Tm) whole evolution process, reflecting good applicability. This study clarifies validity application commonly parameters, can provide reference relevant studies.
